The Chimes'close proximity to established shops, schools and community facilities, combined with the natural lifestyle on offer, were just some of the attractions that apealed to Dave Read and his partner Bev Perry.
The couple has recently bought a homesite at the boutique estate, which features two proposed landscaped parks and is close to the Rockingham Lakes Regional Park, Leda Nature Reserve and Lake Cooloongup Flora and Fauna Reserve.
Dave said he chose The Chimes because of its location close to his Bibra Lake workplace, and also because it was surrounded by nature.
“I’d ideally like to live away from it all,” he said, “and The Chimes provides a lifestyle that is both peaceful and serene.”
Dave has been living in a caravan at the Coogee Beach Caravan Park for the past eight years and has shared it with Bev for the last seven years. The couple is looking forward to having a garden, a shed and space of their own.
The couple decided against buying an established home after calculating that, for about the same money, they could build exactly what they wanted. “Being able to personalise our home makes building and buying so much more exciting,” he said.
Dave and Bev have chosen a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home designed by Affordable Living for their block.
“Having the opportunity to start out with our own home the way we want it, and in an area we really like, is a real bonus.”
