Dave and Andrea

The Village at Wellard holds a very special place in the hearts of Andrea and Dave Horne.

Not only is the couple preparing to build a new home – their third in the estate – but they’ll be living right near the park where Dave popped the question!

“Dave proposed at Linear Park (on Beauchamp Loop) while we were walking our dog Rambo,” said Andrea. “It’s our favourite park and the proposal has made the estate even more special to us.”

The pair was introduced to The Village at Wellard by friends, and was instantly attracted to its semi-rural feel, beautiful scenery and wildlife.

“I’ve always loved nature and the bush, and fell in love with the estate on my first visit!” said Andrea. “It has such a relaxing feel.”

The couple decided to purchase two properties at the estate – a block to build on and an established house to live in until their new home was complete.

It was only after they moved into their new home that they realised the house wasn’t quite large enough for the family they hoped to be one day.

“By this stage, we’d made lots of friends in the estate and already had extended family there, so we decided to stay at The Village and upgrade to a larger family home,” Andrea said.

While walking their dog one evening, the couple came across some homestead blocks at the southern end of the estate, and was quick to secure a large homesite sized around 1,690sqm.

They plan to build a large five-bedroom, three-bathroom home, with a second-storey theatre room to make the most of the beautiful views their block has to offer. They are also looking forward to having the space to grow their own mini fruit orchard.

“The block offers amazing views, and we thought it would be the perfect property for kids,” said Andrea.
