Over the past seven years, Sally and Michael Kenny have watched Point Cook change from a quiet, isolated area to a thriving, energetic community. The young family too has grown, first welcoming son Jack (age 6) and then daughter Mollie (3).
“When we first built in Point Cook, I was a bit shell-shocked,” laughed Mrs Kenny, “I moved from busy Altona to a brand new area. There was nothing here – no shops, no services, and no entertainment!”
Mrs Kenny admits she has fallen in love with the area.  “It’s been fantastic to see Point Cook take shape – it’s become the kind of neighbourhood we always wanted to live in, a bit like the places where we grew up,” she said.
When Jack started at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School earlier this year, the Kenny’s decided it was time to upgrade their home.
“We wanted to live close enough for Jack to be able to cycle to school, like I did as a child,” explained Mrs Kenny. “And with baby number three on the way, we needed a little more space too!”
The Kenny’s were one of the lucky homebuyers to secure one of the final homesites at Innisfail.
“We love the parks at Innisfail, and of course, Stella Maris is right in the estate. We were delighted when we found our block.  It’s ideal - not too big, but with plenty of space for everyone.”
Mrs Kenny admits that although building a home while expecting a baby, looking after two children and working part time can be challenging, it’s definitely well worth the effort.
“It’s easy because we’re happy. It’s exactly what we wanted – a neighbourhood where the children will feel part of a community, where we can get to know our neighbours, and have the proximity to everything that we need.”
